At least one method of degasifying, filling fluid and assembling a hydraulic compensator for a solid state actuated fuel injector is disclosed. The method involves partially assembling a compensator assembly and immersing the partial assembly in a hydraulic and under a vacuum for a first predetermined time period. The partially assembled compensator is then assembled while immersed in the fluid and under a vaccum for a second time period.
