Arrangement for determination of the kilometer reading of a motor vehicle tachometer in which the tachometer (2) is given a coding in the production factory and a transmitter. The transmitter is used to transmit the kilometer reading to a satellite (1) that transmits it back to the production factory (3). Typically the coding can be the motor vehicle frame number.
