PURPOSE: A rattle control apparatus and method during idling are provided to minimize the rattling noise at the idling state by monitoring the variation of an engine rpms and controlling the engine rpms. CONSTITUTION: A rattle control method at the idling state comprises the steps of: studying the rattle generation condition according to the variation of the idle rpms and setting a table value at the memory region; determining the idling state by analyzing the opening of a throttle valve and the position of a crankshaft during ON state(S101,S102); operating the angular velocity of the crankshaft and converting into the frequency components(S103,S104); comparing a reference value of the rattle generation condition with the converted frequency component(S105,S106); and not performing the engine control when the rattle generation condition is not more than the frequency component and performing the engine control through the delay of the ignition period and air amount reducing correction when the rattle generation condition is more than the frequency component(S107).
