The invention concerns a device controlling a function of a vehicle comprising at least a hand-operated control member (1) and means for displaying data concerning said function including a light-emitting display screen (33). The device is characterized in that an optical means (16) is interposed between the display screen (33) and the hand-operated control member (1), the latter comprising a surface (14) forming a display screen for an image projected from said display through the optical means. The controlled function can be ventilation, heating or air conditioning of the vehicle.
