<p>An automobile provided with a highly safe loading/unloading device for a wheelchair. With the automobile, because a space for the user to get on/off the automobile is provided within the floor space of the automobile cabin, no extra space is needed outside the automobile. The automobile does not limit the place for the user to get on/off the automobile because the user can get on/off easily even in a narrow place and in adverse weather conditions such as on the rain, snow and strong wind. The automobile main body has at its rear a closable opening (11) and has two side frames parallel spaced from each other along its length of the automobile. A wheelchair loading/unloading device (10) is located near a rear gate of the automobile, at a place where an automobile cabin floor (15) is partly removed. Usually, a lift floor (13) of the wheelchair loading/unloading device (10) and the automobile cabin floor are at the same height. The lift floor (13) of the wheelchair loading/unloading device (10) is installed between the side frames at the rear of the automobile main body so as to face the opening (11). The lift floor (13) can be lifted/lowered by a lift device (14). A separation wall is provided between the lift floor (13) and the automobile cabin floor (15) of the main body such that the wall is lifted/lowered with the lift floor (13).</p> |
