A separator for separating out a flow into a first fluid, a second fluid which is more dense than the first fluid and solids, the separator comprising: a vessel having an inlet 2 for the flow; means for causing the flow to rotate within the vessel; a first outlet 4 in the vessel for the first fluid, the first outlet 4 comprising a passage, an inlet end of the passage being situated towards a central axis of the vessel; a second outlet 3 for the second fluid, the second outlet 3 being situated towards a side wall of the vessel; and a third outlet 8 for the solids. |
