The invention relates to an insert for a detonation/flame arrester to be fitted in flame arresting fittings of technical devices or directly in the pipe. The inventive insert comprises a frame (1) in which the first strips (3) or the first lamellae (2) with the coiled-up wire and the second strips (3') or the second lamellae (2') are alternately inserted. The first strip (3) with the coiled-up wire (4) and the second strip (3') are rolled up to a disk and are compressed by a frame (1). The first lamellae (2) with the coiled-up wire (4) and the second lamellae (2') are planar. The frame (1) is circular. The frame (1) is polygonal. The first lamellae (2) with the coiled-up wire (4) and the second lamellae (2') are compressed by a frame (1). The wire cross-sectional area (4) is calibrated exactly for the explosive or fuel mixture in question. The more explosive the mixture is, the smaller the wire cross-sectional area (4) is. The wire (4) has a circular cross-sectional area. The wire (4) has a polygonal cross-sectional area.
