PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a copolymer fine particle slightly sedimented in the dispersion and is easy in production and handling, and to provide a sheet-like material having a hydrophilic binder layer containing the copolymer fine particle hardly causing peeling off during handling in either dry or wet condition, and free from adhesion due to overlapping under high humid atmosphere. SOLUTION: This method for producing the copolymer fine particle comprises conducting a suspension polymerization of a mixture consisting of 0.5 to 4 mass% ethylenic unsaturated monomer having a carboxylic acid group and 96 and 99.5 mass% hydrophobic ethylenic unsaturated monomer in an aqueous medium in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone, and adding a water-soluble polymerization initiator.
