PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized, lightweight and inexpensive hoisting/towing machine with a function of adjusting the length of a chain in a stopper means for preventing ends of a driving shaft of the hoisting/towing machine from coming off and with the reduced number of components. SOLUTION: The hoisting/towing machine is equipped with a driving shaft 1 for driving a load sheave 11, a brake member 3, a pressure receiving member 2 engaged with the driving shaft 1, a driving member 5 threadedly engaged with the driving shaft 1 to be pressure-welded to the brake member 3, a loosely rotating spring attached between the driving shaft 1 and the driving member 5, and a handle 14. The hoisting/towing machine also has a stopper 7 locked with the driving member 5 to be fit on the end surface and engaged with the driving shaft 1 and a loosely rotating grip 8 fixed to the outer surface of the stopper 7.
