PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for supplying ink to an inkjet printer head consisting of first and second carriage parts which are coupled to each other in an unfixed manner such that the first and second carriage parts independently and freely rotate about a guide rod shaft, each moving in the shaft direction by restricting the other. SOLUTION: The first carriage part is equipped with one or more ink cartridges to which ink is supplied through a connection pipe having a self sealing type partition wall provided to an ink hole corresponding to the second carriage part. The ink hole at the second carriage part is preferably constituted of a valve with an actuator. The actuator preferably operates to protect the partition wall in the ink hole. When the actuator is positioned on the upper portion, the valve is closed, and when the actuator is positioned on the lower portion, the valve is opened. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
