METHOD FOR PRODUCING BISPHENOLS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing bisphenols effectively utilized as a strongly acidic cation exchange resin catalyst and enabling a long-term continuous operation. SOLUTION: The method for producing bisphenols comprises carrying out at least two steps of a catalyst-moving step for totally moving the catalyst in the upper part of the packed bed of a solid acid catalyst to the lower direction by pulling out the catalyst in the lower part of the packed bed as slurry together with a liquid which flows out from the packed bed and feeding the pulled out catalyst to the upper part of the packed bed and a catalyst- exchanging step for exchanging a catalyst having lowered activity which exists in the upper part of the packed bed with a new catalyst as a result by pulling out the catalyst having lowered activity which exists in the upper part of the packed bed, discharging to the outside and feeding to the new catalyst to the upper part of the packed bed instead of the discharged catalyst.
