PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform management in a buffer mechanism part where an actual action occurs based on a designated amount of actual intermediate transfer body for securing designated quantity of intermediate transfer body in a primary transfer and retransfer. SOLUTION: This printer is provided with a primary transfer record means 15 provided with a thermal head 12 melting ink on ink ribbon and an intermediate transfer roller 14 transferring molten ink on the intermediate transfer body 18 by press of the thermal head 12 for forming a primary transfer record, and a retransfer means 60 for carrying the intermediate transfer body 18 forming the primary transfer record and performing secondary transfer of the primary transfer record on a body 70 to be transferred. A buffer mechanism part 24 for guiding the intermediate transfer body 18 is provided between the primary transfer record means 15 and the retransfer means 60, and the buffer mechanism part 24 is provided with a tension applying part 40 applying designated tension on the intermediate transfer body 18 and tension is switched by the tension applying part 40.
