PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet winding device capable of shortening winding resuming preparation time for improving operation efficiency by facilitating treatment of a winding end part of a belt shaped sheet. SOLUTION: This sheet winding device is provided with a core supporting mechanism 2 winding the belt shaped sheet with a rotated core C and a touch roller 3 rotating with keeping contact with an outer circumference of a winding roll R formed out of the belt shaped sheet wound around the core C. Since the sheet winding device is provided with a sheet holding plate 23 provided in such a manner that the same can freely keep contact with and separate from the touch roller 3, and a sheet temporary retaining mechanism 21 capable of pressing the belt shaped sheet against an outer circumference surface of the touch roller in slightly upstream of a contact point of the touch roller 3 and the winding roll R for temporarily retaining the same and a cutting mechanism 22 cutting the belt shaped sheet retained on the touch roller 3 by a front edge part of the sheet holding plate 23 in a lateral direction in slightly downstream of a contact point of the winding roll R of the outer circumference surface of the touch roller, treatment of the winding end part of the belt shaped sheet is facilitated and winding resuming preparation time is shortened to improve operation efficiency.
