PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint structure between column cover and instrument panel capable of smoothly moving a steering column to the front of a vehicle body in a collision. SOLUTION: In this joint structure between column cover and instrument panel, a steering column 36 of a type in which it is moved to the front of the vehicle body when an forward impact force acts on the vehicle body is protruded from an instrument panel 13 into a cabin 21 by extending it through the opening part 31 of the instrument panel 13, and upper and lower column covers 41 and 42 are put on the protruded portion 37. The lower periphery 32a of the instrument panel 13 opposed to the lower end part 43 of the lower column cover 42 comprises, a guide piece 34 for guiding the lower end part 43 of the lower column cover 42 into the opening part 31 with deformation in a collision.
