PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool for machining capable of carrying out both drilling work and finishing work and efficiently machining a hole. SOLUTION: The cutting tool 10 for machining has first cutting edges 12a and 12b, and tips 14a and 14b used as second cutting edges. Cutting edge tips of the first cutting edges 12a and 12b are positioned ahead (a chisel point 18 side) of cutting edge tips of the tips 14a and 14b by about 0.5-1.0 mm. In the cutting tool 10 for machining, a width D2 between tangents M1 and M2 tangent to the tips 14a and 14b is about 0.02-0.03 mm larger in comparison with a width D1 between tangents L1 and L2 respectively tangent to the first cutting edges 12a and 12b.
