<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machining unit that is easily attachable to and detachable from the body of a machining device, that is superior in maintenance properties, and that is capable of performing efficient drilling operation, and also to provide the machining device equipped with this unit. <P>SOLUTION: A housing 10 attachable to and detachable from the body of the machining device, into which a workpiece W is brought in, is composed integrally of one half 11 of the unit and the other half 12 of the unit that are opposed to each other in a manner holding in-between a space S for inserting the workpiece, and a connecting part 13 that links these halves 11, 12 of the unit. In the one half 11 of the unit, there is installed an optical means 20 that guides a laser beam emitted from a laser outgoing port 25 into a machining area E on the other half 12 of the unit and that also converges the laser beam so guided.
