PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for directly manufacturing regenerated expandable polystyrene beads comprising using a foamed polystyrene gel recovered from a used foamed polystyrene molded article of which the volume is reduced by a volume reducing agent. SOLUTION: The method comprises a step for molding the foamed polystyrene gel recovered from a used foamed polystyrene molded article of which the volume is reduced by the volume reducing agent into granulated particles, a step for extraction treating the volume reducing agent by contacting the granulated molded particles are contacted with an extracting agent for the volume reducing agent comprising at least one of selected from alcohols consisting of methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, iso-propanol, n-butanol, sec-butanol and ethylene glycol as a main component to treat for extracting the volume reducing agent, and a step for substituting and immersing a foaming agent comprising substituting an easily volatile hydrocarbon foaming agent for the residual volume reducing agent by contacting the granulated molded particles treated by the volume reducing agent with the easily volatile hydrocarbon foaming agent to substitute the residual volume reducing agent by the easily volatile hydrocarbon foaming agent and to immerse it at the same time.
