<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating and recovering pulp component and water absorbing polymer in high yield and high purity from the used absorptive article, and enabling reuse thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A transition metallic salt alone or a mixture of the transition metal salt and an alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt is added to the gel mixture of pulp component and water absorbing polymer which are included in the used absorptive article, the moisture included in the water absorbing polymer is removed, the water absorbing polymer is contracted and solidified, at the same time, the water absorbing polymer is colored by the transition metal salt and, thereafter, the pulp component and the water absorbing polymer are respectively separated and recovered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
