PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and reliably join a separate collar to a rod by the plastic machining without needing any welding. SOLUTION: After the rod 4 having an annular groove 21 formed in advance is fixed to a receiving die 26, a rough collar stock 23 is inserted in the rod 4 (1). Next, a die 25 is advanced to the receiving die 26 side along the rod 4, the rough collar stock 23 is pressed into a forming recessed part 27, and the inside diameter side of the rough collar stock 23 is subjected to the plastic flow into the annular groove 21 by the swaging (2). Then, an annular projection 29 provided on a bottom side of the forming recessed part 27 is bitten into an end face of the rough collar stock 23 by further advancement of the die 25, the rough collar stock 23 is subjected to the plastic flow into the annular groove 21, and the material is filled up in the annular groove 21 (3).
