FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTICS AND DEVICE/METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTICS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a fiber-reinforced plastics which secures satisfactory tensile strength at a low cost (about 1/10 compared to a conventional carbon fiber-reinforced plastics) and in a short time. SOLUTION: This fiber-reinforced plastics has a strand of filaments and an adhesive applied to the former. A specified tension is applied to the strand of filaments in the stretching direction prior to the curing of the adhesive and is removed after the adhesive is cured and a prestress is applied to the cured adhesive in the stretching direction of the strand of filaments. Thus the specified tension is given to the strand of filaments before the curing of the adhesive and consequently, a looseness, a deformation and further, a scattering which relatively occur between the filaments constituting the strand are corrected.
