PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerization reaction vessel equipped with a reflux heat exchanger with both gas riser tubes and gas condensing tubes, in which the bottom part of the heat exchanger and the gas phase part of the vessel are connected directly or via a piping, where a monomer liquid condensed in the tubes of the heat exchanger can be made to flow unidirectionally instead of counter-currently with a condensable gas thereby enabling to prevent the condensate from plugging in the tubes caused by blocking of the ascending condensable gas to block the downflow of the condensate liquid, thereby realizing large increase of cooling capacity of the reflux heat exchanger manifesting performance with almost close to the overall heat transfer coefficient originally possessed by itself resulting in its down-sizing, thus enabling to enhance productivity of the resin by largely shortening polymerization reaction time, etc. SOLUTION: This polymerization reaction vessel is equipped with a reflux heat exchanger the bottom part of which is connected directly or through a piping with the vessel.
