PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten operation of a paper delivery tray and improve productivity in a sheet shaped medium post-treatment device aligning paper sheets only in a paper delivery tray area for stapling. SOLUTION: Paper sheets delivered to a paper loading part 55a of an auxiliary tray 55 are aligned under a condition that rear end parts of the papers are loaded on the auxiliary tray 55 and stapled, and then the paper delivery tray 12 is lowered and the auxiliary tray 55 is rotated downward to drop a paper bundle on the paper delivery tray 12. After dropping, the auxiliary tray 55 is returned to a loading position, the paper delivery tray 12 is lifted. When an auxiliary tray sensor 60 is turned on, or a photo sensor 60b is obstructed by a cover plate 60a to be turned on, the paper delivery tray 12 stops and the position is defined as a stand-by position of the paper delivery tray 12 for receiving paper sheets.
