<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device capable of accurately protecting an occupant by an air bag by suppressing unnecessary protrusion of the air bag to an occupant side from an initial stage of deployment to completion of deployment. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag 20 of the air bag device M1 is provided with flow straightening cloths 36 and 45 and first and second regulating members 37 and 43 regulating a gas flow of expansion gas. The first regulating member 37 regulates a separation from a gas inflow port 23 to an occupant side wall part 25 from the initial stage of deployment to midway of deployment of the air bag 20.
