PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a colored flame-retardant resin composition which can cope with various color needs in a small amount, excels in the flame retardance and the dispersibility of a colorant in a thin-wall molded product and, in addition, has extremely small deterioration of color tone and deterioration of strength on exposure in an environment of high temperature and high humidity. SOLUTION: The method for producing a colored flame-retardant resin composition comprises mixing 100 pts.wt. pellets of an uncolored flame-retardant resin composition containing (A) 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin and (B) 0.01-40 pts.wt. flame-retardant with (C) 0.0001-10 pts.wt. colorant and (D) 0.01-3 pts.wt. epoxy compound having a viscosity at 25°C of 10-10,000 cP to form a mixture composed of the above pellets of the uncolored flame-retardant resin composition, the above component (C), and the component (D), and melt kneading the mixture with the use of an extruder to obtain a colored flame-retardant resin composition.
