PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small size rotary tensioner capable of always generating a fixed tension. SOLUTION: A male magnetic screw 31 composed of a spiral magnetized belt is formed on a part of a rotating shaft 22 provided with an output rotor 21 on one end thereof, and a female magnetic screw 32 composed of a spiral magnetized belt is formed on a slider 30 capable of moving in an axial direction of the rotating shaft 22. The male magnetic screw 31 and the female magnetic screw 32 are shifted in an axial direction of the rotating shafts 22 by a slider 30 with rotating the output roller 21, and rotating return torque is generated on the output rotor 21 by generating attraction force (magnetic force) between the male magnetic screw 31 and the female magnetic screw 32.
