PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for punching a carton capable of improving the additive value of the carton while improving its quality. SOLUTION: To a roller press 10 provided with an upper roller 11 having a surface made of a hard material and a lower roller 12 having a surface made of a soft material, an insert body 1 comprising a punching die 30 provided with a cutting blade 31 on the upper side and an embossing plate 5 provided with an embossing part 7 having patterns on the lower side is inserted having a paper board 2 between them. The insert body 1 is formed to have a larger height than a gap formed between the upper roller 11 and the lower roller 12. by inserting the insert body 1 between the upper roller 11 and the lower roller 12, the cutting blade 31 cuts the paper board 2, and patterns on the embossing part 7 are transferred to the paper board 2 to form patterns in it.
