<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a print range can be set more intuitively while lessening the burden on a user at the time of setting the print range. <P>SOLUTION: In the printer, a control means for designating print while setting a print range has a function for setting the print range based on the position of a previously moved movable element constituting the printer or a print medium. The movable element may be the print head section or a carriage of the printer. The process for setting a print range comprises a step for moving the movable element or the print medium previously before printing, a step for obtaining information indicative of the position of the previously moved movable element or the print medium, and a step for setting a print range based on the information indicative of the position and performing print. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
