PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hammer drill having a changeover mechanism of high reliability. SOLUTION: In this hammer drill, a claw 2a is provided on a gear 2 engaged with a tooth 1a of a drive shaft 1, the gear 2 is disposed on a crank shaft 3 so as to be rotatable, and a changeover member 16 that can be engaged with the claw 2a on the gear 2 is disposed so as to be integrally rotatable with the crank shaft 3 and movable in an axial direction.
