A continuous gas fluidised bed polymerisation process

The invention relates to a fluidised bed polymerisation reactor suitable for use in the continuous gas phase polymerisation of olefins especially ethylene, propylene, or mixtures of these with other alpha olefins. The reactor comprises a vessel (15) having a fluidisation grid (16), cooling means (21, 23), separating means (24) and injection means comprising gas-induced atomiser nozzles (Fig 2). The reactor provides for substantially improved productivity of operation.
