COLLIMATING LENS, COLLIMATING SYSTEM AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE ADOPTING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A collimating lens, a collimating system and an image display device adopting the same are provided which condense a light ray having a main radiation angle having a relatively high light intensity distribution among rays irradiated from a directional light source. CONSTITUTION: A light source has a radiation angle distribution where it radiates relatively intensely at least at one main radiation angle(omega n). And a collimating lens(18) has at least more than one prism part(20) having an output plane(24) with a prism angle(alpha n) corresponding to the above main radiation angle. The above prism part is formed concentrically, and the collimating lens is formed in the form of multi plane lens where the above output planes are connected continuously.
