<p>PURPOSE: An illumination system and a projection display device equipped with the same are provided to expand lift span of a light source and to prevent harmful light, such as ultraviolet ray and infrared ray, from being created. CONSTITUTION: An illumination system includes a light source(11), a collimating lens array(12), an optical path changing unit, and a focusing lens(15). The collimating lens array(12) allows light radiated from the light source(11) to parallel travel. The optical path changing unit reflects light incident from the collimating lens array(12) towards the light source(11), thereby primarily focusing light. The focusing lens(15) is positioned adjacent to the light source(11) in order to secondarily focus light, which is reflected and primarily focused through the optical path changing unit. The optical path changing unit has a Fresnel lens(13) and a reflecting mirror(14).</p> |
