PURPOSE: A method for learning behaviors of a robot is provided to learn easily various behaviors by receiving behaviors of other robots and an user's rules through a network and learning the received behaviors as behavioral patterns of the robot. CONSTITUTION: One robot receives behavioral patterns of the other robot by using a network. The corresponding behavior is revealed by increasing the behavior selection probability for behaviors related to the behavioral patterns of the other robot. An user's reaction is evaluated by deciding whether the user reveals a friendly reaction, or not. The behavior selection probability for behaviors related to the first behavior patterns is increased if the user reveals the friendly reaction according to a result of the user's reaction.
