PURPOSE: A road sign is provided to heighten the work efficiency on installation and replacement by rotating a horizontal support to the footpath side for works. CONSTITUTION: The road sign comprises a horizontal support(2) installed horizontally on the top of a vertical post(1), a base installed on the lower end of the vertical post(1) and provided with arched holes, an opening(17) formed on the horizontal support(2), a sign plate(4) with built-in lightings(8) and a pair of vertical guides(10) guided to reciprocate the sign plate(4) installed on the lower side of the horizontal support(2), a hole(12) and a cover(11) stopping up the hole(12) installed on the lower part of the vertical post(1), a wire rope roller(13) installed in the inner hole(12) of the vertical post(1), a vertical roller(14) and a horizontal roller(15) installed in the vertical post(1) and the horizontal support(2), a wire rope(16) guided over the vertical roller(14) and the horizontal roller(15) and installed to be coiled around the wire rope roller(13), and a hanger(18) installed on the top of the sign plate(4) to fix an end of the wire rope(16) suspended downward form the horizontal roller(15).
