PURPOSE: Provided are a urethane coat wire and a belt manufactured using the same which have significantly enhanced tensional strength, flexibility, abrasion resistance and impact resistance without making any noise occurrence, and are well adapted for use in making a power transmission belt for a small precision instrument. CONSTITUTION: The urethane coat wire comprises a cable type core(10) which is made by twisting a plurality of metallic wires or a coil spring type core which is formed by spirally coiling a metallic wire, and a urethane film(20) coated around the core. In a method of manufacturing a urethane coat wire belt, the urethane coat wire is cut by a predetermined length, and the film applied on the both ends of the cut wire is uncovered while exposing the core portions. The core portions are connected to each other, and the connected portion is coated with a urethane film.
