<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor used with a fuel pump. <P>SOLUTION: This electric motor is provided with a stator 13, a rotor 11, and a sleeve 15 which is positioned at one end of the electric motor, supports or restrict a bearing for the rotor, and installs the fuel pump. The sleeve 15 is formed with the only means for positioning the rotor 11 and a pump impeller. This electric motor is a brushless DC motor, which includes a sensor for detecting the position of the rotor relative to the stator, and an electronic circuit for switching current in a winding, in response to the output of the sensor and rotating the rotor relative to the stator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
