<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module whose power consumption is small and which prevents characteristics or the like due to influence from the outside of a package from being generated easily. <P>SOLUTION: Optical components 1 are accommodated in a package 2, and the temperature of the optical components 1 is adjusted by a temperature-control element 5. An optical component-retaining section 7 is projected and formed from the inner-wall side of the package 2 toward the edge section side of the optical components 1, a slope 9 at the projection tip edge side of the optical component-retaining section 7 is linearly brought into contact with the edge section of the optical components 1, and the optical components 1 are retained by the optical component-retaining section 7. The contact between the optical components 1 and the optical component-retaining section 7 is made by linear contact instead of face contact, thus reducing the amount of heat conduction from the optical components 1 to the side of the package 2, and reducing the power consumption of the temperature-control element 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
