PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for finishing a fiber product at high temperature which is effective for arrangement of pile yarns of a towel cloth, adjustment of chroma after dyeing, shrink proofing of a fabric, heat set or the like. SOLUTION: The fiber product to be an object of finishing is exposed to a superheated steam heated to a saturation temperature or more under an atmospheric pressure for a prescribed time by introducing the superheated steam caused by a radio frequency heater into a finishing tunnel having slit- shaped entrance/exit and a feeder, and passing the fiber product through the entrance/exit. When the steam is heated by induction heating, the superheated steam heated up to about 400°C is obtained under the atmospheric pressure, and heat transfer property is improved because the lump of water becomes fine. A large temperature gradient is caused between the surface and the interior of the fiber to be the object of the finishing, to heat the fiber surface to a high temperature while leaving water in the inside by the method and the apparatus.
