<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sputtering target of a silver alloy for forming a reflective layer of an Ag alloy on an optical recording medium such as an optical recording disk (CD-RW or DVD-RAM). <P>SOLUTION: This sputtering target consists of (1) a silver alloy comprising 0.1-20 mass% Zn, 0.1-3 mass% Al, and the balance Ag, (2) a silver alloy comprising 0.1-20 mass% Zn, 0.1-3 mass% Al, further 0.005-0.05 mass% in total of one or more elements selected among Ca, Be, and Si, and the balance Ag, (3) a silver alloy comprising 0.1-20 mass% Zn, 0.1-3 mass% Al, further 0.1-3 mass% in total of one or more elements selected among Dy, La, Nd, Tb, and Gd, and the balance Ag, or (4) a silver alloy comprising the composition of the silver alloy according to (3), and further 0.005-0.05 mass% in total of one or more elements selected among Ca, Be, and Si. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
