<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be capable of reliably disengage a parking brake during failure in motor not to mention to give full display of the function as the parking brake without damaging an inherent function as a motor-operated brake and also during failure in the motor. <P>SOLUTION: In the motor-operated brake device to generate a brake force by promoting a piston through rotation of a motor rotor 26 and by pressing a brake pad against a disc rotor, a parking brake lock mechanism 16 is situated around the rotor 26. The parking brake lock mechanism 16 is structured such that a lock mechanism 50 consisting of a claw wheel 25 situated at the rotor 26 and an engaging claw 5 is operated by a self holding type solenoid 51. During operation of a parking brake, by making a solenoid 51 temporarily carry current, the engaging claw 56 is engaged with the claw wheel 52. During engagement of a parking brake, by making the solenoid 51 temporarily carry a current, the engaging claw 56 is disengaged from the claw wheel 52. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
