PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small size and thin coil device which can be surface- mounted and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The coil device (1) is provided with wires (11-1 to 11-3), a first core (12) which is wound with the wires (11-1 to 11-3), a second core (13) which is disposed to surround the side surface of the first core (12) to form a magnetic path together with the first core (12), and terminals (14-1 to 14-6) which are engaged with the external surface of the second core (13) and connected with the wires (11-1 to 11-3) at the external side surface side.
