PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat shield cable which, despite being thin in insulation sheath, effectively prevents buckling and breaking of signal wires, and provides the wiring with improved degrees of freedom. SOLUTION: The flat shield cable 11 comprises a plurality of insulation- coated signal wires 12 arrayed in parallel, a drain wire 13 arrayed along one side thereof, a shielding layer 14 covering them, and further an insulation sheath 15 covering the shielding layer 14, wherein the width of the insulation sheath 15 is adjusted so that a section modulus z of the cable 11 becomes 4.1 to 5.8.
