PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize uniform display by suppressing the change of the length of a blanking period and a display state by a signal voltage in an active matrix liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: In an active matrix liquid crystal display device in which a picture signal whose polarity is inverted alternately every one line of scanning signal wirings on the basis of the half height of a signal voltage is prepared and applied to picture signal wirings, in a blanking period from the scanning signal of the final stage in one frame period when the scanning signal is successively applied to a plurality of scanning signal wirings to the scanning signal of the first stage of a next frame, a fixed voltage which is set to the half height of the signal voltage of the picture signal is applied to the picture signal wirings.
