<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing unit which makes a user possible to intuitively know a part to be opened which the user should access in order to remove a jam. <P>SOLUTION: In the fixing unit main body F1, a fixing roller 21b and a pressure roller 21a are disposed. A carrying portion F2 is disposed so that it can be opened with respect to the fixing unit main body F1. In the carrying portion F2, a pair of carrying rollers 23a and 23a' are disposed for carrying a recording material s, passed through the fixing nip of the fixing roller 21b and pressure roller 21a, toward a pair of paper ejection rollers 23b and 23b'. A pressure release lever 25 is turned to allow the carrying portion F2 to be opened with respect to the fixing unit main body F1 linking with the operation of releasing the pressure of the fixing nip. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
