<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcomputer capable of outputting pulse signals of a certain cycle and duty ratio with less power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The microcomputer 1, having a CPU 3, an oscillating circuit 9 generating main clocks for operating the CPU 3, and an intermittent operation control part 15 and an oscillation control part 11 for performing control for intermittently operating the CPU 3 and the oscillating circuit 9 in response to low-frequency sub-clocks, has an optional signal output control part 17 which operates in response to the sub-clocks. The control part 17, upon receiving from the CPU 3 a command to start outputs, outputs from a specific output terminal P1 pulse signals of the cycle and duty ratio preset by the CPU 3, until receiving a command to stop the outputs from the CPU 3 and irrespective of the operating condition of the CPU 3. The microcomputer 1 is capable of repeatedly outputting the pulse signals of a certain cycle and duty ratio while holding the CPU 3 stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
