REACTOR FACILITY, REACTOR CORE, AND REACTOR OPERATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pebble bed reactor, reactor facilities provided with the same, and a method for operating the reactor capable of smoothing its output in the diametral directions of the reactor core and improving cost effectiveness. SOLUTION: The reactor facilities are provided with both a burn-up detector 13 for introducing a large number of fuel balls 3 discharged from the pebble bed reactor core 2 and detecting the burn-up of the fuel balls 3 and a process computer 19 for controlling a fuel thrower 15 and a selector 16 in such a way as to divide the fuel balls 3 of relatively small burn-up to a region relatively outside in the diametral directions via an outside throwing pipe 8a and the fuel balls 3 of relatively large burn-up to a region relatively inside in the diametral directions via an inside throwing pipe 8b when rethrowing the fuel balls 3 to the reactor core 2 according to the results of detection by the burn-up detector 13.
