METHOD FOR PRODUCING SILICON COMPOSITION FOR COATING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silicon composition for coating having excellent surface smoothness.

SOLUTION: This method for producing the silicon composition for coating comprises subjecting an SiOR1group-containing compound (A) to hydrolytic condensation in a 1-3C water-soluble organic solvent (B) and then adding a compound (C) having 100-250°C boiling point to the condensate. Since the silicon composition for coating obtained by the method has excellent surface smoothness, the silicon composition is suitable for an over coating agent especially for a color filter and a clear image is obtained from the color filter coated with the coating agent.
