PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of making a cap inconspicuous. SOLUTION: This lighting system is equipped with a pointer 4, a display board 5 arranged on the back of the pointer 4, and a light source 6 for illuminating the pointer 4 and the display board 5. The pointer 4 has an indication part 45 extending linearly, and the cap 43 for covering a rotation center region R of the indication part 45. The display board 5 has a display part 51 which is an indication object of the pointer 4, and a background part 52 which is a background of the pointer 4. The indication part 45 and the cap 43 are formed to have optical transparency emitting light in a prescribed color by receiving light supply from the light source 6. The background part 52 is formed as a translucent part 53 emitting light by receiving light supply from the light source 6. The luminescent color of the cap 43 is set to be a different color from the luminescent color of the indication part 45 and the same color as the luminescent color of the translucent part 53.
