The seal consists of a flexible joint (7) engaged with a force fit in a trapezoid-section annular groove in a flange on a fixed member (4) of the coupling, and an annular projection on the mobile member (6) of the coupling (1). The width of the projection is less than that of the seal and its height is e.g. 0.5 - 2 mm. The two members of the coupling are held together by an external fastening mechanism, ensuring a seal to allow the transmission of a fluid.
