PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supplemental seal for eventually minimizing or excluding a leakage loss passing through a chordal hinge seal. SOLUTION: A gas turbine has the chordal hinge seal 46 between an inside rail 52 of a nozzle segment 41 and an annular seal face 54 of a nozzle support ring 44. The supplemental seal 70 is arranged between the support ring and an inner band 38 of the nozzle segments at a high pressure side 37 of the chordal hinge seal. The supplemental seal 70 contains a pair of metallic thin plate shim 72, 74 covered with a woven metal cloth 76 supported with a bracket 80 secured to an inner edge part of the inside rail. The inner edge in the axial direction of a cloth seal is pushed against the annular seal surface of the nozzle support ring. Slits 90, 92 placed in staggered fashion at the end edge are entered in the shim of the auxiliary seal's foot to give flexibility, and effectively seal- engaged with the nozzle support ring 44.
