PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position information transmission apparatus capable of changing transmission frequency of its own position information depending on a mobile state of a mobile body so as to allow a server apparatus to acquire constant position information at all times independently of a mobile state of the mobile body. SOLUTION: The position information transmission apparatus sets a transmission frequency of position information on the basis of a distance reference D1 when a mobile speed of the mobile body is high, and when the mobile speed of the mobile body is medium, low or ultra-low, the position information transmission apparatus sets the transmission frequency of the position information on the basis of time references T1, T2, and T3. Further, when the mobile speed of the mobile body is ultra-low, the position information transmission apparatus sets immediately transmits the acquired position information. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
